The Challenge
This project lacked of a specific briefing, the only requirement was to develop it on the frame of the coronavirus pandemic (April 2020), and focus it on one of some given themes, over the ones I chose ‘society during the pandemic’. I approached the project, researching, thinking, and most of all, learning about the possible consequences of the COVID-19 at all terms. It was then when I realized how deeply damage the music industry would be, specially the live music one. I focused on the conomic and social relevance of the Spanish music festivals to the country and its citizens.
The Research
Even before the pandemic, when thousands of festivals tickets were already sold, there were some issues that meant to be changed, but due to the amount of festival goers, festival directors didn’t have the necessity of correcting them. For this reason, I put forward in this project, knowing the severity of the situation, that this can be taken as an opportunity of change and a breakpoint. But in order to know what to change, and how, I needed to know people’s opinion.
To get key and pain points I used different design tools such as: Polls, deep interviews, design thinking, roll games, benchmarking, UX maps, etc. On the right part of this page I show some of the most relevant information I took out from the poll. To make it more effective I split it up in two: Festivals interest before the pandemic and festivals under the coronavirus circumstances.

The solution
After using different ideation techniques I come up with the creation of Lekufes. A service that includes every part of a music festival. From the moment the user purchases the ticket, up to 14 days later, to check up that everyone is healthy and all right. Its main goal is to guarantee the protection of all the stakeholders without losing the festival atmosphere. I got this by focusing on the Before-During-After.
This could be accomplished by performing live concerts in some cities and, simultaneously streaming in others. Finally, and in order to make this project economically viable, there are two types of tickets. To attend the festival physically, or to watch it streaming from home, which it has been proved that has some popularity over the users, and anyway, the festival is going to be recorded.
